Be Here for Beer

Chef Anthony Garnett from the Coral Bay Club

Upstairs in Back Street

Be Here for Beer Photos
at The Backstreet Pub
Featuring Natty Greene's Brewing Co.
And Local Chef Anthony Garnett, with The Coral Bay Club
Such a cool little bar, perfect setting for this event.
There is an awesome umbrella like tree in the courtyard
Perfect little area for conversation and beer
Tried to include more detail shots for my blog
but I have a ton of people shots.

Other news, I am 35wks this week. Feeling huge!!
Will have to post a picture of myself
Tired of rude peoples comments at the grocery store etc.
People find it hard to believe I have 5wks left.
My Dr. "guessetimates" baby is already 7lbs
so they doubt I'll make it to June 21st.
Whew.. this is going to be a big little boy
he already bigger than Maddie was
Getting nervous now as everything is getting closer.
Still have things to hang in his room.
Finished my Big Sis shirt and gifts for Miss Maddie

Cooking with Chef Shawn Pratt

Chef Shawn and Steve Tylicki with Steele Wines

My Cute Sister in law

Fennel dusted bread with Seared lemon

Thursday's event was cooking with Chef Shawn Pratt
of Gatherings in Swansboro. Held at the old courthouse at the Beaufort Historic Site.
He shared great recipes and tips along with
a cooking demonstration.
Yum! My favorite was his braised pork
tenderloin with fresh sage and white beans.
And the Fennel dusted lemon seared bread was
to die for. I am such a die hard bread fan.
Check out his website here and his blog.
He teaches lots of cooking classes and shares
some of his tips & recipes on his blog.

And the winemake was Joe Shirley with Napa Cellars.
The place was packed everyone looked like they were enjoying themselves.
And of course the food looked and smelled great!
So many exciting events to share.

The road to Beaufort Wine & Food Weekend

I am slowly getting back into our routine here at home
I finally uploaded 566 pictures last night from the Wine & Food weekend.
2 more days of pictures to upload yet.
But this week I have been a little sidetracked little Miss turns 3
this weekend! plus it's mothers day. Big weekend!
Busy getting stuff ready for her party. Tonights chore is getting stuff
ready for her class tomorrow. Making cupcakes & goodie bags for her
classmates. Plus made treats for her teachers as this week is
teacher appreciation week. Busy, Busy!!

But thought I'd start with posting a few pictures from our trip down
to the wine weekend activites. We ended up not leaving as early as
we hoped but it all worked out. We left around 630am ish..
And we had hoped someone would sleep but no she was way to
nosey to go back to sleep. She kept asking where we
going Mommy!! We made good time. Stopped for breakfast in Exmore
at my favorite diner! Then we were back on the road and stopped
in to check out some things in Edenton. One of them being an
old Peanut Mill factory that's for sale. Just for curiosity we have dreams of opening a brewery/winery that's Tom's dream. Of course I would have a photography studio or a junk/antique shop in it too..
Enough dreaming  it ended upbeing a lot rougher than we thought.
Too much work for us. The top couple pictures are of it. Of course it
poured it's butt off as soon as we got to Edenton.
Then we stopped for lunch at Kristy's an Italian place and got back
on the road again and made it my brothers house by 445ish I think.
So excited to see my cute nephew ! He's changed so much since the
last time I saw him. Love this picture of him & made having a cheese stick
break on Mike's lap.
So much more to share, so check back..

Beaufort Wine & Food Weekend

Hitting the road tomorrow traveling to Beaufort, NC
for the Beaufort Wine & Food Weekend
So excited to be given the opportunity to photograph all of their events again.
I can not wait to explore more photography wise this time
and try a more creative approach to documenting the talented people
and the wonderful things this festival has to offer.
A ton of great events happening everyday this week & on thru the weekend.
Lots of great dinners, seminars & tastings.

The details

Back to Wine & Food shoots,
Just wanted to share these couple that I edited last night.
Almost done!
I didn't get as much done as I wanted to rough night.
Hubby came home with a fever of 102 !!
He's been having sinus/allergy issues for weeks. And of course he's a man so he wouldn't go
to our local triage place so I made him take motrin every four hours, I also gave him nyquil.
He woke up with a fever of 100. I made him go to the Dr. today. He's not only running a fever but
has an awful headache that keeps getting worse he said.
Waiting to hear back from him. I am guess it's a bad sinus infection.
