Can't Stand The Cuteness

Finally got out the big camera, for some random shots of everyday life here lately

I am sad to say it doesn't come out enough anymore
I love taking pictures not sure why it's taken a back seat but here's to changing that
I will strive to shoot our everyday more often
especially with spring here and summer coming

I was working on the kids photo albums for 2012
eek so behind, but anyway I realized I have a ton
of photos of Maddie including 4 scrapbooks full
and hardly anything for the lil guy
Now I know what my brother felt like he's always
talking about how there were more pictures of me than him... lol

This little girl is a handful but a good handful
she's a little motormouth, and is crazy smart to
smart really for her own good..
I can't wait to see what lies in her future
I know she is going to big things one day

More Vintage Jewelry Frames

Added more Vintage Jewelry Frames to my shop today
Check them out here

This first one is so cute I am loving grey and yellow
here lately and I like the lace like detail of this fabric

I painted this chunky vintage frame a light gray to
allow the woodgrain to peek thru some.

These frames are a perfect way to make your jewelry art so to speak
Not only to they look pretty they serve a purpose
I love mine, I love being able to see what jewelry I have
when it's stuck in a dark ole jewelry box you have to dig to find what you are looking for. And that's no fun right

This one is one of my favorites I love the rainbow stripes

The frames are also perfect for hanging/clipping hair bows and headbands
Fun for a teen or a little girl's room
They would make great gifts for Teacher gifts, Bridal Showers, Birthdays, Christmas, Graduation etc.

This one I a great extra large size
lots of room for your jewelry, Bracelets, Necklaces etc

Each frame comes with 4 S hooks for hanging

Homemade Vinegar Stain Pinterest Project

Happy Monday!!
Sorry I have been MIA I had a large custom
pillowcase order that I was working on

Thought I would pop in and share another Pinterest Idea that I tried lately
Have seen a lot of DIY stain recipes out there and
I loved the sound of this one, Simple & Easy my kind of deal

Ingredients Vinegar + Steel Wool (I used fine grade) = weathered wood stain

I mixed two different jars one with White Vinegar & one with Apple Cinder Vinegar  I decided to try out the stain on a wine crate we had laying around in the garage. We got ours from a local liquor store after they advertised in the paper wine crates for sale. We got like 10 of them to use for storage in the garage and other stuff. Might not hurt to ask someone at your local store if they have any available maybe they would even give you some or give you a good deal on them.

Anyway I let the steel wool soak in the vinegar for a couple days
shake often just to mix real good

I used a soft rag, dipped it in the White Vinegar
mixture and applied it all over and inside

You can use rubber gloves to apply if you are worried
about your hands smelling. Mine didn't smell to bad

You can see in the picture above the inside of the box is the color of the box before I applied the stain the outside is after the stain
The vinegar gives it a slightly weathered look, it brings out the grain more

I like how it looks after applying one coat but I decided to go a little further
and try a coat of the Apple Cider Vinegar on top to see what happens
This time I used the Steel Wool inside of the mixture to apply the stain

And here is the finished product after a couple coats of the Apple Cider Vinegar mixture. The combo of the Steel Wool and the Apple Cider gave it  a dark
look., not sure which look I like better.
I applied a light furniture wax to it after I let it dry in the sun for a day
And I am now using this box as a place to store shoes by the front door

P.S. those boots are getting ready to hit my Etsy shop

Here it sits by the door, not to bad I think I like it there

Coconut Milk Shampoo

Happy Monday ~
Recovering from a short visit back home in Maryland this weekend
Even thou we were rushed we managed visiting my in laws
and helped my parents with some projects to get their house ready for the market. I can't believe in 2 weeks they will be here well
at least one of them.
Excited for what the future holds for them
Anyway here is a Pinterest Project I tried recently

Coconut Milk Shampoo
thought I would try to make this after seeing it on Pinterest a couple times
I love anything coconutty, easy to make
I have used it a couple times and works pretty good
I needed a break from my regular shampoo

Here are the ingredients

Coconut Milk (I found mine at Trader Joe's for .99)
Baby Organic shampoo or wash
Olive oil
Essential Oil (fragrance of your choice)

Simple and Easy to make
mix together

1/4 cup of Coconut Milk
1/3 cup of baby (organic) shampoo/wash
1 tsp of Olive Oil
10 to 20 drops of essential oil (I used tangerine) You can find these at a health store or some supermarkets

Mix together or shake well
I put mine in a lil jar but would probably work better in a squeeze bottle

I love the shampoo simple to make made
me hair feel less dry
