Greetings Just a little random post today

Hope everyone is getting ready for a great Memorial Day Weekend

I am looking forward to it, no real plans 

Just excited to spend some time with my Dad as 

he will be coming into town for the weekend.

Hoping to celebrate his past birthday & pre fathers day with him

What have we been up to lately you ask well

We've been spending our time playing outside enjoying the warm temps

playing with neighbors and checking on our tadpoles we transplanted into our ditch from another ditch in the neighborhood

We like to hit up the local farmers market on wednesdays

and visit the library once a week

We have a good little routine going

He loves a Strawberry Banana Smoothie or any smoothie for that matter

He hears the blender start up and he takes off running for it

jumping up & down till he gets some

Don't leave yours on a table within reaching distance cause it will be gone

How could you ever get mad at this little guy

He may be ornery but he sure is cute

Newbies

HAPPY Monday!! 

Added a couple newbies to the shop this weekend

These 2 are so unique and are special in their own way

First up is Omar ain't he a cutie

Love the bright colors, they really make it stand out

It's a cute little framed Needlepoint that would be

great hanging in a nursery or a kids room 

Spray paint the frame an orange or yellow for an additional pop of color

The second new guy is this awesome Milk Glass Sconce

How pretty is this, imagine doing some bedroom time reading under this 

It's a Great piece for any room actually

Hook this lamp up with a homemade burlap shade and 

bam you have a perfect treasure

I am in love with Hobnail, and the detail on this lamp is great

I love that the wall disc has a trim to match the hobnail

Choco Hazelnut Thumbprint Cookies

Thought I'd share a cool recipe today

 I found for Chocolate Hazelnut Thumbprints

I made these for my Step Mom for Mother's Day

Simple & Easy to make, my favorite kind of recipe lol

Ingredients:

1/2 cup butter, softened

1/3 cup packed brown sugar

1 egg yolk

1 tsp. vanilla extract

1/4 tsp. salt

1 cup all purpose flour

1/3 cup chopped dark chocolate or mini choc chips (I used the mini chips)

1/4 cup Nutella

Preheat oven to 350' 

Line 2 cookie sheets w/parchment paper, set aside

Beat butter w/mixer on medium speed for 30 sec

Add Brown Sugar & beat until combined

Beat in Egg yolk,vanilla, and salt

Beat in flour on low speed until dough comes together

(may be crumbly at first) Stir in choco chips

Shape dough into 24 11/4 in balls

Arrange 2in apart on cookie sheets

Use your thumb to make indents in each ball

Fill each with 1/2 tsp of Nutella

Bake 10min or until edges are lightly browned

Remove and let cool

Little girl is such a poser, She told me where she wanted her picture taken and

what pose she wanted to do.. 

She's getting so big, Such a smart little girl

Sometimes too much!!

We went to Flash Forward night at the Elementary School last night

she was excited and even wore her backpack filled with pencils & workbooks 

We got to eat pizza in the Cafeteria, she thought that was so cool.

We also got to meet some of the teachers and picked up some info about

a few great summer camps, and summer activities she can get involved with

There is a cool Marine & EcoScience day camp that sounds like fun

She liked looking at the microscope they had set up

Mommy wanted her to do the surf camp., how cool would that be

I also want to give a shout out to my Dad whom is still stuck in Maryland

trying to sell his house, Today is his birthday!!!

Happy Birthday Dad!!

I am almost thru editing my photos, my goodness

Originally I was upset that I couldn't shoot all of the events 

but in realty I am sort of glad, nap time  &

 late night editing just the weekend events is getting to me (ha,ha) 

especially when the weather is beautiful

These photos are from one of my favorite parts of the Wine & 

Food Weekend in Beaufort

 Dinners that are held at some of the historic homes downtown

This year one of my favorites was the Hammock House C. 1709

It's one of the oldest houses in Beaufort

After reading up on it some, It was an Inn, and a tavern at one time 

And Blackbeard the pirate was believe to have stayed

 there sometimes or even lived there 

I love a good house with history

This little guy even made his appearance there

Love the wood detail on this 

They had two different winemakers there serving tastes of their best wines

 & Chef Sheri Castle worked her magic in the Kitchen

This nice couple are the property owners 

love how they kept certain details of the homes original values

Lots of yummy eats

Perfect spot to enjoy the quiet evenings

We had a great day, just hanging out after church

hitting the slipping slide fun at a neighbors house & riding bikes

 all soaking up the gorgeous weather

My Brothers Homestead

One of my favorite things to take pictures of is nature, besides abandoned stuff

And one of my favorite places to take pictures of is my brothers house

I love wondering around their garden & flower beds when I visit

So many unique plants, things to capture

Just reminds you to stop and look around and shoot what catches your eye

This is a shot of a piece of their Herb box, love the rusty parts of it

Now if I could just get them to come over and plant some stuff for me,

most of my stuff dies
