favorites. I felt comfortable in my shooting abilities. Especially with people

My favorite people shots are the unposed ones.,

I love stalking for the perfect shot.

My biggest problem is lighting, me and my flash do not get along sometimes.

That's my next investment is a new flash

I got the new Sony A77 SLR camera body for Mothers Day

Yeah Baby I have been testing it out., hoping for a day to ride around and practice using it.

Hey there I am back into town

Had a great shooting the events at the Beaufort Wine & Food weekend. It was also great to spend a little time with my bro and his family.

I am busy getting back into the swing of things., uploading lots & lots of photos and planning a birthday party. Lots of photos to share. But for

now I thought I'd at least show you some pictures of

the rental we stayed in. Called Creek Watch on front street in Beaufort, NC Many thanks to the Beaufort Historic Society for putting us up here. Beautiful place, wonderful scenery nice for the kiddos.

I miss waking up to the sound of water and the sights of the ponies on Carrot Island.

I had a great time, and hope to be invited back next year.

Hey there, I was talking about our sunday trip the other day

here are some photos from it. Us country mice went to the big city. I have only been there a couple times I guess. Mostly to the Inner Harbor.

We took Tom's F250 truck and most of these photos were taken as I hung out the window as we flew thru the city. And he hollered at me to roll up the window as we had to go thru some interesting parts of the city.

I like the buildings and nitty gritty of the city but I don't think I could live there.

But it's fun to explore.

Tom's Uncle was in John Hopkins ICU there with

GBS Guillion Barre Syndrome a rare disease where your body immune system attach your nervous system and basically loose control of everything. He can't move his arms can't talk can only move his feet.

He is being transferred to a rehab facility this week.

We are off to NC next week I will be doing the event photography for the Beaufort Food & Wine Weekend. Super stoked this is my 3rd year shooting it.

It was a rough week last week.

Lots of listening & behavior issues ugh...

It all started with a certain 3 1/2 year old running away from me in a parking lot, the next day she fell in a toilet, then she bit another kid on the playground

cause she didn't want to share, the final straw was on friday when she got in trouble at circle time for lifting her leg and tooting on the other kids,

the cherry on top was that night she cut her hair with baby nail clippers..

Oh my I am not sure if we'll survive her becoming a teenager..

Busy couple of weeks coming up meeting with the ear doctor this

week about Dalton's ears, next week we are off to Beaufort NC

to shoot the Beaufort Food & Wine Weekend. So excited for that this year.

This will be the third year I have done it.

Easter Day

Baby D watching the chilly egg hunt thru the window

So not happy watching the Egg dyeing process

Our Easter was very laid back this year,

We spent time together as a family

Had a mini Egg hunt on the back porch and went to the park.

Plus we got a visit from my parents. They brought their own eggs and had an egg hunt for Maddie.

She loved it

We had plans to go across the bridge to Frederick MD

to Tom's Aunt & Uncle's place but his other Uncle developed a weird condition called Guillion Barre (spelling?) out of the blue

and is hospitalized in John Hopkins. What a scary thing to

arise out of the blue. They said he will recover just not sure how long it will take could be weeks, months even years.

Pretty scary to be normal one minute and in the next everything changes. He is only 45!! goodness

Meet Lindsey my sister in law owner & operator of the Etsy shop

Thirty Something She is donating a card wallet from her shop for the giveaway!!

Here's a little ditty about Lindsey ~

I started sewing by hand in elementary school. My first memories are finding fabric scraps in my best friends's basement and sewing them together to create these little pillows for a stray cat I had at home.

Then I took Home Ec in Middle School and sewed a little but it wasn't until High School that I had Ms. Washburn as my sewing teacher. She was demanding and strict, old fashioned with the most beautiful silver grey hair. I first learned how to sew on the machine in her sewing class and I just loved it.

My Etsy shop reflects my whimsical style and my love for sewing. The Happy Birthday banner has gotten a great response in my shop and I am really proud of it. I created it for my son's 1st birthday party. My mom always used to hang a banner and streamers for my birthday, even when I was in my teens. Then in college, my roommate and I made Happy Birthday banners for each other with plain paper and markers and would hang them up over the doorway. The banners became sort of sentimental and I found myself wanting to make one that I could hang over and over for my son and husband. So I designed the one shown in my shop and with my mom's help (which was a very special shared time ). I sewed it together and hung it the next day for his party! Did I mention that I'm a procrastinator ?

Here are some questions I asked Lindsey & her answers

1) What is your favorite item in your shop & why?

I think my most favorite item is the alligator I painted on an old piece of wooden siding that my husband found. I knew I wanted to paint something on this board and the alligator just started appearing as I started painting. Painting is a really fun process for me. I get really messy and just feel so free. I can paint something and if I don't like it I can just re do it. I don't like to make it complicated, just whatever feels natural and that way I can just be a complete spazz. I think this piece is one of my favorites !!

2) What inspires you ? and/or a place that inspires you ?

Nature inspires me for sure. I think nature, the creatures, the colors, the textures, it's tenacity. That is the ultimate art. How does the universe make such beautiful things ?? It amazes me. I love seeing how a tiny flower will rise from the crack in a sidewalk. Living in NYC I loved the grittiness of the city, a true concrete jungle. Going to the zoo in the Bronx and the botanical garden was bewildering and refreshing. These lush, natural, thriving spaces in the middle of all these towering buildings? The energy there inspired me. I love seeing all the stencil graffiti on the streets and the typography on the screen-printed posters posted by the dozens on the walls. It just made me feel as if everyone was busy and I like that.

3) I asked Lindsey what her goals were for her New Etsy shop?

She says first of all, I believe you only get out what you put in to something.

I only have a few items in my shop and I'd like to keep it that way.

I have part time jobs, school, family and friends that I put a lot of time into. My main goal for my shop is to make it a vehicle to reach others so that I can create items for a special time in their lives or just simply to add a little piece of creativity to their lives. Nothing major, it's not earth shattering and I don't want it to be. I've got something people want and I will try my best to create high quality results and create things for people who don't have the skills that I do. I loved adding in custom details and overcoming little challenges along the way.

4) Any new products or ideas for you shop you are working on ?

I would really like to do more fish paintings on old found wood. I'd like to do a whole school. And keep them bright and colorful with little details.

The Thrill of the hunt

Maddie enjoyed a local Easter Egg hunt on a gloomy day along with a millon other people. Oh what fun! I think this was our first and last cattle call Easter Egg hunt. Parents & Kids both pushing & fighting over eggs. Way too much for me. But Maddie had fun! We are going to track down the Easter Bunny on this saturday then traveling to Tom's Aunt's house for Easter Dinner & a hunt for the kids. Should be fun. Poor Dalton has a double ear infection and we are trying to get him set up with an Ear Dr. to talk about Tubes...eek I am not thrilled about the idea but poor lil man needs some relief.

St. Patty's day

Happy St. Patty's Day Weekend

We enjoyed a low key weekend., packed full of working around the house

I and my helper worked on the flower beds, then we de-cluttered her room

oh what fun, one trash bag of trash and one for consignment.

Then after our chores we ventured into town to catch the St. Patty's day parade.

Maddie loved it, she told me her favorite part was the drums.

I kind of like the unicorn seen in the picture above

Dalton loved the parade too

The weather was pretty good this weekend too

I love this time of year watching everything change colors.

Today we dug for treasures at an Estate sale

A cool old farm with friendly chickens (that were huge) and a sneaky pig

Siblings

I captured these sweet pictures a couple weekends ago and they are dear to my heart,

I love that these too are close

I love that Maddie's is a big helper,

I even love when she reports everything to me that he does. I know he'll be getting into her stuff more soon

and things will change. I can only hope these two remain close. I am close to my brother alot more that some people are that has changed some in the last couple years or so, but we still are in contact frequently even thou we are far apart.

Hope everyone has an awesome St. Patty's day & Weekend the weather sounds good.

Been some good temps this week. I have blogged as much as I would have liked to but it's been nice, we've been are normal busy., on top of that we bought a new car, been interviewing for preschool and been busy trying to reduce our debt.

Wanted to post these I took these the same day we did baby D's 8 month pictures someone wanted theirs done...lol

She loves having her picture taken right now, ha ha I am sure that will change.

Love this little girl, she is 3 1/2 going on 12, 16, 21 at any time.

She keeps me on my toes

I can only imagine what she is going to be when she grows up

check up went good. Ears are great!! Relief

However the waking up twice a night can not be blamed on the ears

just a big case of Mommyitis! ugh

Dalton's Special Day

We finally got Dalton Christened Presidents Day Weekend In Neavitt Church, the same church where Maddie was christened and myself and my father.

The church is pretty special to me., There are only about 10 people that normally attend. So they were excited to have more people in attendance. I would love to attend this church just wish it was closer for us. My brother and his wife are Dalton & Maddie's godparents. They came up from NC to attend.

The service was nice and I love how the Pastor asking everyone to grab a stone out of the giant shell to signify the remembrance of their baptist.

It was a great celebration.

I am home today with a sick lil girl, started with a high fever yesterday must be viral no cough, no running nose just a fever. And my lil man is still not sleeping thru the night. Oh the adventures of parenthood.

I have alot to share of new products for the shop.

I hope to get in and running soon.

8 months oh my

This little guy turned 8 months a couple weeks ago

I have been so busy I finally got around to taking his

photos for the month.

He's changing so much, got his bottom 2 teeth in

not all the way but they have broke thru...yay!

He's been busy watching big sis play and doing the

army man crawl all over the place.

Rolls everywhere...

Loves to sit up and play by his self.

Loves all sorts of food and is a great eater.
