Thought I'd share a few photos from my latest redo,

I changed up the curtains in my kitchen

these are old vintage napkins. I love the look!

I had seen where someone did this with a vintage apron. I couldn't find an apron I liked., I am picky!

So for now I love it!

I love the idea the clips I can change them out whenever no hassle.

Hope everyone is having a good week, I am keeping my fingers crossed that we are over the sickness hump. The weather has been so back and forth it's crazy here, 60 degrees one day then 40 something the next.

Hi there, playing catch up from the holidays

We had a great holiday! Dalton had a wonderful Christmas and Maddie was so much fun this year. January has been busy with

our anniversary, ear infection(s), Pillowcase making,

and so much more.

Sorry for the posting delay hope everyone has stuck with me.

I am working on creating more goodies for my Etsy shop

Thanks for everyones support on my pillowcases.

I have sold alot of them.

In other news I have joined a Pinterest group meeting once a month

to do a create a craft idea off of there. First up is a mirror

mosaic idea, with either vintage brooches, driftwood, shells

anything. I can't wait to get started on mine.

I am also trying to get back into growing my photography

hoping to get some more work. I enjoy it so much.

I am working on promoting a little bit more, working on new business cards and portfolio

My little guy likes them too.

We hit up the Pumpkin Patch this past weekend

The weather was sunny but a little chilly, glad we did it then

and not this weekend. I just heard we are supposed to get SNOW!!

Crazy! I am not ready for that. Poor Baby D missed picking out the pumpkin

the bumpy patch put him to sleep.

We finished decorating our pumpkins this week, better late than never.

We painted some & carved our big one. I painted a silly face on mine.

She even painted her white one black...to funny

I loved painting ours and wish I could have gotten more pumpkins

We've been to the restaurant several times., but Tom's been wanting to go to the factory where they do the brewing for a tour. The history of the business is pretty cool. How the guy started from scratch and now it's a big time business. He even had a tv show for some time. He comes up with some

weird oh recipes. After the tour we each got 4 samples.

I am not a fan of some of their beers., but I did

try some my favorite was the pumpkin beer.

I love that the company is environmentally friendly, they use alot of

recycled stuff. In fact the leftover grains after brewing are sent to a local farm for feed for the animals, where in turn Dogfish buys the meat from the farm

for the restaurant. How cool, they are all about giving back.

The cool artsy tree house they bought for $1 online from a place near California, For Halloween this year there are inviting their employees children

up there for Ghost stories. Fun! Sounds like a cool place to work.

We had a good time, after the tour & hanging out in the tasteing room

we headed to Rehobeth to eat lunch at the Dogfish pub restaurant.

Where I had another Pumpkin Beer and a yummy yummy Turkey Burger

with a Goat cheese spread...mmmm to die for

Beautiful day for the festival, however there wasn't much wind.

Maddie got a cool kite that she got to color, with sharpie markers ahh

Why did they have to do that...

We had a few problems with are kite falling apart.

We found a few little puffs of air, and Tom did manage to get it up in the air a couple times. Maddie had fun! and was wiped out when we got home.

4 Months

Mr. Chubbs turned 4 months on the 6th

I tried getting him to laugh but he just looked at me like I was crazy...

He weighs 17lbs and is 25 inches long

Eating 8oz of formula every 3-4 hrs

Here are some photos from our Cancer fundraiser at my work.

So many people have Cancer, it's heart breaking.

My Step Mom, Two of my Co workers, one of which pasted away last year from it. You hear a lot of about cancer in our area.

Last year we made a donation to the Susan G. Koman Foundation

this years went to the American Cancer Society.

I started off the day wrong that day, My cake for the Cake wheel turned out awful, My boy was running a fever and my sitter texted me instead of calling me and I didn't get it until 45 minutes later.. grr..

The shirt I picked out from my work didn't fit me my second shirt of the day I spilled coffee on. And I don't even drink the stuff.

Anyway we had a nice day & for such a good cause.

We decided to take the kids to try miniature golf one day. We picked a cute

place, you got to ride a train to the course,

we went across a bridge and thru some tunnels.

The kids loved it. I loved watching them play. Mason wanted to throw his ball

and Maddie played like she was playing field hockey. Too funny!

Maddie and Mason love to play together they have their little sharing fits.,

but play pretty good together most times.

Maddie even woke in the middle of the night asking for him last week.

Thought I'd share a few vacation photos, I love the unexpected detail shots I found on my camera. Some that are just pretty, some that are simple shots but still are treasured memories from our vacation. Such as the one of those cute hands holding a flower and the shot of her and daddy's feet learning

to play miniature golf. Remember the little things when taking photos, might not seem like much now but one day you'll look but and remember that moment

Our Rodanthe Beach House Vacation was cancelled no thanks to

Hurricaine Irene damage the Hatteras Island is nonaccessable

due to 5 breaches on the main road in

I feel so bad for the people that live there. I've been following

the progress on facebook and it looks like the temporary bridge

is half way done :)

So anyway we ending up booking another beach house in Southern Shores NC

Am excited even thou the temps might be cooler looks like

it'll be nice to get away.

I just got this beauty in the mail

I love my clutch and have used it several times already.

It's extremely well crafted, The fabric choices are beautiful

It has a removable strap, the inside has 2 credit card pockets and

has coordinating fabric. I use mine to hold my license, a couple credit cards, dollars (when I have them..lol) my phone, a pen and some chapstick..oh and my handy dandy hand santizer.

I just finished reading Kristen Duke's E Book

Say NO to Auto

I thought a would share some info on this book thought

some of you might be interested.

This book is perfect for beginners or someone that might need a refresher.

Her book which is 17 pages long shares the 3 Basic steps

to understanding Manual Camera Settings.

If you are intimidated by your wordy hard to read manual or if your nervous about turning that dial off the Auto setting. This book

will be a great resource. The book has in the first couple pages a glossary of helpful photography terms, great for a beginner.

She starts the book by explaining in great detail

the 3 basic steps that work together to form as she calls it a "perfect recipe" in a shot. Starting with how to determine your ISO. She gives excellant

example lighting condition situations and the ISO that she recommends for them. In the back of the book she also gives photo examples of each lighting condition. This is great! If you have no idea where to start. Read this part. Then she goes on to help you identify your aperture. She again gives great photo examples. I am a visual learner, this part was right up my alley. She finishes up with helping you adjust your shutter speed.

Kristen fills you up with great easy to understand information then

challenges you by giving you practice formulas.

We are a little late for our 3 month photo shoot

Better late than never right, Didn't help we had a whole week of rain

I enlisted big sister's help with the shoot

She was so excited, and laughed cause he was so wiggly

We had a pretty laid back weekend,

Celebrated Grandparents day yesterday and will today at Maddie's school.

Can't wait to show the artwork we made for both sets of grandparents.

Pretty busy week, lots of things to get done before we leave for

Dogfish

Finally here are a few photos from our Sunday date

Tom and got a babysitter yay!!

With it being Labor day we weren't sure where to go

because of traffic & people.

But we ended up going to Rehoboth and having a yummy lunch at

Dogfish and hitting up some shops. I had dogfish tacos with a spicy dressing and black beans over rice yum!

I was kind of nervous about the whole dogfish thing. But it

was so good. Apparently Dogfish is a shark.

Tom had a huge burger which he could hardly open his mouth

big enough to eat it, it came with tasty homemade fries.

Then on our way home we stopped at a Dairy Farm that makes their own ice cream on route 9. The parking lot was packed.

The silo with ice cream cone caught my attention.

I know we waited 20 minutes for our ice cream but it was worth the wait.

I had Choco Chip Cookie Dough and Tom Black Raspberry.

Thought I'd share a few pictures from a couple weekends ago

We went to West Minister, MD for a 85th birthday party for Tom's Grandma

It was nice to visit with everyone as we don't get to see everyone that much.

Plus it was their first time meeting Dalton.

Whom is name after that side of the family anyone.

Maddie had a ball playing with the twins, and taking turns riding on their

Tractors. She got a little to adventurous and tried riding on the hood

while one of the boys drove...yeah that was fun.

Baby D just hung out and got passed around

We had Crabs and catered goodies

Yummy sweet corn from Tom's Uncle Jeff's garden

And my favorite so awesome Strawberry cake

Which is my favorite in the whole world. I just got the recipe.

Can't wait to try it, trying to hold off as I know I'll eat the whole thing probably.

Story Time

I love listening to her talk to him, she's such a good story teller

We did a little relaxin and a date day, plus some supply shopping for our

Remnants of Irene

We had very minimal damage lots of leaves and a few branches

Parts of town were flooded.

Waiting to hear news of my brothers homestead in NC

They live in Beaufort NC, and evacuated to Raleigh

they are headed home today.

Hope everyone made out safely!

I know lots of people are still without power

Also curious about the status of the beach house we rented this year

Loved venturing outside to click a few photos

The colors of the leaves are so pretty.

Yesterday by the afternoon the sun was out and it ended up being a beautiful day. We spent the day cleaning up the outside picking up branches

and putting patio furniture back.

We had a yummy lunch on sunday at Jimmy n Sooks in Cambridge

Love their crab balls & homemade french fries

Maddie had delicious homemade chicken tenders

It was a yucky rainy day but we managed to squeeze in sometime

between raindrops to explore the park across the street.

I love the mural over there.

Got Maddie's picture in front of it., love that toothy grin.

Cool store on that side Crabi Gras I want to check it out

but it's never open. I love that welcome mat, My parents would love it.

It's been a rough two days at work my roomate who had Breast Cancer

22 months ago was in remission has just found out it has

reappeared and is in her liver.

Really makes you think about things.

Things can change in the blink of an eye.

Be thankful everyday for what you have

Cancer is no stranger to our family my stepmother had Lymphoma

and is currently in remission. We are extremely thankful for that.

County Fair

We had a great time at the QA County fair last week,

enjoyed a yummy chix dinner with sweet corn and watermelon

My girl tore up some corn, she finished hers and next thing I know

she's gnawing on mine. Then she went on a few rides, let

me correct that. She went on the slide 4 times no lie.

Mommy had to climb up those nice metal rickidy stairs 4 times.

Then the space ship rides 3 times, and bouncy house for a long time

We couldn't get her out., I even tried we'll give you ice cream if come out..lol

We finished off the night by getting an ice cream cone and checking out the animals. Glad the weather was decent. Baby slept the whole time, he never woke up to eat, so I messed up and instead of waking him I let him sleep. Big mistake ! We got stuck in traffic leaving the parking lot and the wondeful

cop directly traffice let everyone go but me... ugh I sat there for 20 minutes or more baby cried most of that time. I tried to get the cop to let me turn into the parking lot to feed him and he would let me. Poor thing cried until I could get to a gas station to feed him in the car.. grr it was horrible.

While we were waiting for the cop to let us go, I tried giving him his pacifier

20 million times, but boyfriend was crazy hungry and didn't want that thing.

Ooh did I mention I was in the car by myself with just maddie and him.

Maddie who kept telling me police man looking at us mommy, police man

get me.. lol then it was mommy Dalton is crying...lol...

Anyway, enough about my horrible mom moment...

I am adding more goodies this week into my Etsy shop, so keep an eye

on it. I am also hosting a giveaway, so I am pretty excited about that.

Big Sis has to have baby bro tuck her in and give hugs n kiss before bed.

He loves it too, even if he's fussy he calms right now when I put

him in her bed. I remember seeing pictures of me with with my

baby brother in my bed reading him a story.

We are getting used to our new schedule with me being back to work.

Things went smoothly last night. I've been pretty good about following a system. Planning our dinners. Getting stuff ready the night before helps.

My 200mm lens tore up ugh.. working on getting that repaired

So I have my 50mm dang so love this lens for close ups

But is taking some adjustments getting used to using it for everyday.

I have a couple events lined up excited about those.

Can't wait to share some of the photos.

St. Lukes Methodist church Cemetery St. Michaels MD

Semi check off of my maternity leave to do list / Bucket list

At the top of my bucket list is tracking down part of my

grandmothers roots. We have a family legend I guess you could

say., we have paperwork that tells the story of what we call the

Chamberlain Line. Basically it's a written note

(this is a brief description of what is written) that tells about our descendants

Aaron Chamberlain and Lady Louise Brice. Lady Louise Brice's father was

the Earl of Slago. She grew up near Lisbon. She was disinherited because

she married (Aaron Chamberlain) a man of no title in 1812

Aaron Chamberlain was from Boston, and Super-Cargoist.

They went on to settle in Baltimore and ended up in Talbot County

where Louise ended up living with her oldest daughter Elizabeth.

Anyway, the apparently the tombs of Louise Brice Chamberlain

and some of her children were moved from a family farm to this cemetery

in St. Michaels St. Luke's Methodist church. My brother and I used to go

to sunday school here & preschool. I set out the other day and

decided baby and I would see if we could find the grave sites to some of these

descendants. A ton of graves to look thru while trying to maneuver a stroller around a cemetery was interesting. I had just about given up and

on my way out of the cemetery I took what looked like an old walkway

out of the cemetery. And came across one of the stones.

How lucky was that. I found a couple of the ones I was looking for

and a marker with the last names but no first names or dates ??

So my search continues., It is nice to have record of some of birth & deceased dates for our family records. I am going to continue looking for more information and would love to find out the site of the family farm where they

were originally buried.

Coconut Banana Bread w/Lime Glaze.. mmm

Hello!! It's Recipe time

Thought I'd share the recipe I was telling you about. Hope you try it!

We had a nice weekend despite the heat.

I took photos for a 60th birthday party on Saturday and Sunday we just

hung out. Looking forward to this weekend! My brother and family are visiting.

Maddie can't wait to see her cousin.

Coconut Banana Bread with Lime Glaze

(Recipe from www.ourbestbites.com)

2 C Flour

3/4 tsp baking soda

1/2tsp salt

1 C Sugar

1/4 C (4tbs) real butter, softened

2 Large eggs

1 1/2 C Mashed ripe bananas (about 4 large bananas)

1/4 C Sour cream or Plain yogurt

4 Tbs apple juice or milk

1 tsp Vanilla Extract

1/2 C Coconut

Topping 2 Tbs additional coconut

Glaze 1/2 C powdered sugar whisked with 1 1/2 Tbs fresh lime juice

Preheat oven to 350 Degrees

Whisk Flour, Baking soda and salt together and set aside

In a large mixing bowl, beat butter and sugar until blended. Add eggs and beat to combine. Add banana, sour cream or yogurt, apple juice (or milk) and vanilla. Beat until blended. Add flour mixture and beat at a low speed until just combined. Stir in 1/2 C coconut.

Pour batter into a 9x5 loaf pan that has been sprayed with non stick spray. Sprinkle additional 2 Tbs of coconut on top.

Bake in oven for about 1 hour or until a knife or skewer

inserted in center comes out clean. Check bread after about 40 minutes. If the top has browned and the coconut pieces are looking toasty, cover top of bread lightly with a piece of foil. Continue baking until done.

When done, remove pan from oven.

Let cool on a cooling rack for 10 minutes and then

carefully remove from pan.

Whisk powdered sugar and lime juice together for the glaze and

then drizzle over top. Cool for another 15 minutes before slicing.

Enjoy!!

We took a trip to Oc to hit the boardwalk to spend the day

this past week. We have been wanting to take Maddie on some good kiddie rides. The ones at the local fairs haven't been real good. The ones at the fair

across the street broken down on us. Not fun. Anyway, we hit on the Trumper Amusement rides on the boardwalk. We started with the indoor ones. Which it was like stepping into a time warp. These were the exact same rides my brother and I have rode on when we were little I've seen them in photos.

Everything is in pretty good shape thou. I was impressed..

Maddie loved the rides she cracked me up she's so adventurous sometimes

she wanted to go on the bumper cars, the huge roller coaster & the zipper

whoa girl !

We then ate lunch at the Dough roller & later stopped at

Dairy Queen for an ice cream.
